Call it karma or historical coincidence, but there are a few things in the Trump, ICE, and Department of Homeland Security playbook that are too close to Nazi history to ignore. These things could be coincidental, but MAGA and Trump are copying from the rise of fascist regimes, so they have much to borrow from.
Here are a few:
Noem and Rohm: Two Nazi Leaders
The leader of Hitler’s Brownshirts, the thug gang of militant enforcers who terrorized enemies of the Reich in the 1930s, was named Ernst Rohm.
The leader of the Trump Brownshirts, AKA ICE, is Kristi Noem.

There is a one-letter difference, but their goals, separated by almost 90 years, are the same.
Evil never dies. It persists through all the genres of humanity.
Rohm was one of Hitler’s earliest and most fanatical followers. He was a thug, and he organized other gangsters and psychopaths into a street gang that followed Hitler’s speeches and attacked groups, such as communists and socialists, who protested Hitler’s speeches, and beat them up in the streets, much as the current ICE goon squads are doing today.
But when it emerged that Rohm and some of his gangsters were gay, the more traditional Nazi leadership urged Hitler to get rid of Rohm for fostering a bad image. If you can imagine the Nazis saying Rohm was bad for their image, you can get an idea of how greasy and low-class Rohm and his gay Brownshirts were.
Rohm was assassinated by the SS in 1934 during the Night of the Long Knives, aka the Rohm Purge, a killing spree organized by Hitler and his top henchmen, to get rid of opponents and settle long-festering rivalries and political threats. It looks like Hitler and Trump both were comfortable getting rid of loyal followers after they served their purpose.
Bovino’s Nazi Fashion Statement
ICE Leader Dan Bovino chose to wear a great coat, a coat similar to what German officers and Nazi leaders wore in World War I and II.
Bovino chose this outfit for a reason: He wants to look like a Nazi.
Killing Your Dog Is Acceptable to Noem and the Gestapo
As part of their training to become loyal and sadistic Gestapo agents, Gestapo trainees were given a dog at the start of their basic training. At the end of their session, the Gestapo cadets were told they had to kill their own dog. This would make them cold-blooded killers and eliminate any emotion from their jobs as killers of innocent civilians.
As described in her book, Noem killed her 14-month-old pointer puppy named Cricket after the dog proved to be a poor hunting dog. The dog also jumped out of her truck and killed some chickens. Noem also said she killed a goat that was not playful enough. Noem said the killings were meant to show that she was a tough woman, and this image would help her get elected governor.
Nazi Slogans on the Podium
Noem, the head of Homeland Security, and a Gestapo fan, had this slogan posted on the podium during one of her appearances. This was deliberate: a white-power and Nazi
slogan that was used to warn anti-Nazi freedom fighters and resistance groups that they would be hunted down and killed if they attacked German soldiers. The slogan, “One Of Ours, All Of Yours,” was reminiscent of Nazi-era rhetoric regarding collective punishment.
No Coincidences Between Nazis, Trump, and MAGA
These may be coincidences, but they are also too close in reality to bechance encounters. Steven Miller invokes Nazi slogans and has a racial policy that targets minorities. Trump is on the record as saying Blacks, Hispanics, and Haitians are inferior.
As PBS has reported, “He said an Indiana judge could not rule on a border case because of his Mexican heritage. He funded ads that associated
Native Americans with drug use and crime. And he told four Congresswomen of color, to “go back” to the countries they came from “originally.” All are American citizens, and three were born in the United States.”
Here is a list of other despicable racial remarks Trump has made, according to PBS.
These are not coincidences.
All the symbol borrowing, slogans, and costumes signal something to the white supremacists who comprise Trump’s fanatic followers, whether they be neo-Nazis, Christian nationalists, fundamentalists, QAnon creeps, or white-collar elitists in the Federalist Society, Hillsdale College, the Cato Institute, or the Heritage Foundation.
This is all planned, scripted, and intended to foster a racial solution to America’s upcoming demographic shift from being a majority Caucasian nation to one where Hispanics outnumber Caucasians. Trump wants to reverse the demographics by any means necessary.
If all this sounds familiar to people who know their history, it should. AI may be around the corner, with the prospect of an advanced society, but for the Trump administration, the Beer Hall Putsch, purges, retribution, and violence are much closer to current reality.
