Donald Trump and Sodom and Gomorrah share many similarities. Both have become symbols of sensual excess, immorality, a continuous orgy of abnormal behavior, and conspicuous excess in every human activity.
The Google AI summary of the two cities is as follows:

If this Bible story, dating back about 3,000 years, sounds familiar, it should. The sins listed above encompass all of Trump’s publicly exhibited behaviors. Half of Americans who voted against Trump are now like Lot’s guests, who are now on the verge of being raped by Trump’s policies. This is quite an analogy, but it’s not like what Nixon said about his attempt to fool Americans during the Watergate scandal.
Trump is re-making the nation, along with willing elected officials, and Golden Calf-worshipping followers, into a country that will be unrecognizable when Trump leaves office. If the Democrats manage to reinvent themselves into a political party with a specific purpose, it will take decades to undo Trump’s destruction. This means a generation or two will suffer for about 40 years.
But given the fact that about half the nation voted twice for a convicted criminal and lifelong sociopath, or in the Biblical description, a rapist, adulterer, prideful man who lacks charity, maybe that will be G-d’s revenge on Trump’s followers. And as in all collective forms of punishment, the innocent will also have to suffer along with the criminals and social deviants.
Evil Governments Are As Old As the Bible
While this is a Biblical description of Trump’s cruel and sadistic regime, it should sound familiar.
Trump’s MAGA re-make of America involves the following:
- The expansion of sports gambling using crypto is evidenced by his cozy relationships with the international soccer, golf, and extreme fighting businesses. Gambling attracts people, often desperate, who crave fast money without knowing the risk level. It’s for the 98% of the population who face problems ascending the wealth ladder. These are the same people who lost money as day traders, a loser’s game.
- The expansion of cryptocurrency in all forms is a means to foster criminality by evading tax payments, laundering money, undermining the Federal Reserve (including the firing of Fed Chairman Powell), and destabilizing the American financial system.
- Actualizing the established neo-liberal goals of privatizing all public agencies and operations, such as the U.S. Post Office (which has the nation’s largest union), the FAA, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, NASA, and public utilities.
- Destroying the regulatory framework at the institutional and individual prosecution levels. We are already seeing this in the dismantling of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Board, and the firing of Inspector Generals in many Federal agencies whose job is to prosecute corruption. Trump is also prosecuting aggressive federal attorneys nationwide who want to be ethical and root out corruption.
- Terrorizing citizens and non-citizens that a group of vigilantes and bounty hunters determines to be a suspect based on their physical characteristics. This is a recasting of the Biblical admonition that Sodom and Gomorrah were characterized by their ”inhospitality and cruelty towards strangers.” We see this every day in the ICE raids.
- Setting the stage so that unregulated and greedy financial firms in the private equity, alternative investment, cryptocurrency, and private lending industries can access unsophisticated investors and their retirement accounts. The lure of promises for higher returns in alternative investments of all types comes with high fees, increased risk, and reduced liquidity compared to publicly traded stocks and bonds. This is why most retirement plans don’t offer alternatives since they have a fiduciary responsibility to their plan participants. The investment industry dislikes the ERISA fiduciary regulations and continually strives to circumvent them.
- “Inhospitality towards strangers” also has a role in the investment industry. Gaining access and control over these retirement accounts is the ultimate goal of the entire investment industry. Unsophisticated investors are their bread and butter. And since Americans score very low on international studies that rank the financial and political intelligence of citizens in various nations, the U.S. ranks very low. This makes unsophisticated Americans ideal victims for get-rich-quick schemes in crypto, sports wagering, and Ponzi schemes.
- Developing a following of sadists. The media frequently describes that Trump’s and MAGA legislation and policies are “cruel” towards American citizens. But who exactly does “cruel” things? Cruel things are often done by sadists who come from the crowd of average citizens that are part of the MAGA following. Hannah Arendt, the scholar and author who studied the rise of totalitarian and fascist regimes, noted that atrocities are often carried out by average citizens who are bookkeepers and shop owners who become willing
participants in committing atrocities when given a uniform and ordered to do the unthinkable. While Arendt based her work on the Nazis, many of the ICE and Homeland Security agents who are persecuting average Americans hide their faces because they don’t want their neighbors to recognize them as they assume the roles of monsters on the same streets where their children go to school. This is the diabolical transformation resulting from the policies of Trump, Steven Miller, Kristy Noem, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Howard Lutnick, Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio, Steve Bannon, Tom Homan, Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, and their many taxpayer-funded colleagues.
Americans Must Love Sadism
While some of this may be startling, it is not new. Trump was elected twice—an astounding two times—as president, so obviously he has a large following who enjoys watching sadism and his criminal behavior. This includes Evangelical Christians, who have reinvented themselves to accommodate Trump’s distinctly traditional Christian beliefs. Maybe they and others whose lives have stagnated have been mesmerized by Trump’s mental illness since it is entertaining and out of the norm. Most people never get to see mentally ill people in person, let alone on TV or the international stage.
Trump’s popular, free country fair-type rallies, complete with entertainment and carnival
food, were a way to spend an afternoon seeing a reincarnated carnival barker whose time-tested theme was that there is “trouble, trouble right here in River City.”
Trump’s sociopathology takes its cues from some comedians, who use their stage shows to explode in rants and anger, such as Lewis Black (a Trump hater) and the now disgraced radio host Michael Savage. At times, Trump has the cadence and delivery of Jackie Mason. But Trump’s incoherence and rambling stream of consciousness list of personal vendettas and hatred provides the best insight into Trump’s narcissistic mental illness.
Trump knows this is a way to gain attention, and at least half of Americans think this cheap side-show trick is worth the cost of electing a convicted criminal, adulterer, tax evader, and rapist as president twice.
So, is Sodom and Gomorrah a sensationalized description of Trump’s version of America?
At the small town and city levels, the answer is no. But if you watch the collection of social deviants and Golden Calf followers who surround Trump, the answer is “yes.” You will not be admitted into Trump’s MAGA circle unless you adopt and accept his perverse version of America. This is why it’s alarming that local sheriffs and cops at all levels of society are embracing the MAGA ideology.
Almost all the MAGA elected representatives have become followers or are terrified that they will lose their privileged jobs and must get a job in the private sector. These Trump followers have job security that evades average Americans. This sadist class has lifelong employment. They won’t ever go away.
So, what is the zip code for today’s version of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Unfortunately, it’s not just Washington, DC (2004). It’s Anytown USA.
